The McLaren Vale town centre is the commercial hub of the McLaren Vale Wine Region. The two small townships of Bellevue and Gloucester were amalgamated to form McLaren Vale.  The area has a long history of wine production and is now one of the premium wine producing areas in Australia with exceptional restaurants and cafes.  The main road has many friendly locals offering a taste of the region.
